About Us

About the North Central Ohio Chapter

The North Central Ohio Chapter's mission is to provide to the local community qaulity programs and meetings with a focus on supply chain content.The Chapter is dedicated to enhancing individual & organizational success by inspiring lifelong learning. 

Established as the American Production and Inventory Control Society, North Central Ohio in 1978 as a Corporation for Non-Profit in the State of Ohio, the Chapter has served the area for over 35 years.

As the recognized local Channel Partner of APICS, the North Central Ohio Chapter serves Mansfield, Ashland and the surrounding counties. The Chapter holds periodic meetings between September and May to offer speakers on topics of current interest to Materials Management Professionals or tours of local manufacturing facilities. 

The Chapter also offers certification review courses for professional development and for the purpose of obtaining and maintaining professional certifications for Certified in Production and Inventory Management or Certified Supply Chain Professional.

Educational courses and seminars on many supply chain and operations management topics are also offered. 

Membership in the local chapter is designated when membership with the international organization is established. Local annual membership dues are collected by APICS and then distributed to the local chapter. The Chapter uses the dues to help fund its operational expenses for meetings and educational events throughout the year.

The Chapter is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors as elected by the membership in May of each year. The board serves one year terms and individuals can serve an unlimited number of terms by election or appointment. 

The Chapter works with other local organizations as necessary for the mutual benefit and promotion of the collaborative partnership.  

We service our community by offering: 

  • Instructor-led certification review classes that help prepare candidates for CPIM and CSCP testing.

  • Coordination of on-site training for organizations interested in educating a group of employees.

  • Seminars and workshops specific to the needs of organizations in the local area

  • Plant tours that provide insight into organizational principles and practices

  • Workshops and meetings with allied organizations that enable members to network with professional peers.

  • Professional development meetings that foster local networking and career development..
